Digital Director

Hum Creative seeks a talented professional to help us build top notch digital experiences that thoughtfully align usability and emotional brand expression for our clients. Hum’s digital director will oversee and/or execute development on projects ranging from microsites and minor updates to robust websites with extensive interactive features. This client-facing, hands-on position is responsible for the overall quality of all digital and interactive projects, from scoping to building, deploying, and support.




  • Maintain a high awareness of industry issues and trends, particularly in regard to accessibility, usability, and emerging technologies
  • Guide clients and creative team towards innovative technical solutions
  • Work with clients and end users to gather requirements, resolve issues, and define strategic technical recommendations based on best practices
  • Select and managing contract development team
  • Oversee the development process including: scoping, defining and presenting the project, conducting regular status meetings, and managing and/or executing development through launch and beyond
  • Providing technical support for clients and internal teams as needed



  • Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, Design, or other relevant subject area
  • 5+ years professional experience in website and mobile development
  • Proficiency using modern web development technologies and techniques, including HTML5, JavaScript, CSS3, jQuery, APIs, Responsive Design, ASP.NET Web Forms and web services, and code versioning tools
  • Experience with content management systems, ecommerce solutions and site generators including WordPress, Craft, and Shopify
  • Experience with learning management systems (LMS), and customer relationship management (CRM) platforms
  • Deep knowledge in information architecture, human-computer interaction, and mobile usability design principles
  • Understanding of good design principles and ability to adhere to complex design specifications during implementation
  • Experience and ability to successfully communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to accurately estimate and scope development work
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills, and a keen attention to detail
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work under pressure, individually and as part of a team
  • Ability to work on multiple projects at the same time
  • Strong written & oral communication as well as presentation skills
